Faculty Academic - Early Childhood and Special Education Scholarship

This scholarship has been developed to recognize outstanding Early Childhood Education and Special Education Para educator students at Schoolcraft College.

The Early Childhood Education and Special Education Faculty Academic Scholarship awards $500 to a student registered for the Winter 2021 semester for 6 or more credit hours.

Criteria

  • Pursuing an Early Childhood Education or Special Needs Para educator degree or certificate at Schoolcraft College.
  • Completed at least 12 credit hours at Schoolcraft College before the Fall 2020 semester.
  • Have at least a 3.0 Schoolcraft College cumulative grade point average.
  • Have at least a 3.5 Schoolcraft College cumulative grade point average in ECE/SPE classes.
  • Write a 500 word essay addressing the following three areas:
  • Why are you interested in working with children?
  • What do you consider to be the key attributes of an effective educator of children?
  • As an emerging educator what are your beliefs regarding the role of a teacher in assisting children in developing effective social competence skills?

Supplemental Questions

  2. I am pursuing the Child Care and Development or Special Needs Paraprofessional degree or certificate at Schoolcraft College
  3. Submit a 500 word essay addressing the following three areas: (1) Why are you interested in working with children? (2) What do you consider to be the key attributes of an effective educator of children? (3) As an emerging educator what are your beliefs regarding the role of a teacher in assisting children in developing effective social competence skills?
  4. By submitting my Faculty Scholarship application, I am authorizing the college to release information about me and my essay (if applicable) to internal and/or external media, with the potential to be published.
